Information on Tshangu-Baba Mandir & Nathula
- Foreign National or NRI can go up to TSHANGU, in case they are in a group of at least 2 members.
- Permit is required for TSHANGU visit.
- Foreign National or NRI are not allowed to visit Baba Mandir & Nathula
- Indian Nationals are allowed to visit BABA-MANDIR AND NATHULA. But Permit to visit NATHULA Pass not guaranteed. Only on the day of excursion permit get done to few not to all.
- While the NATHULA permit get done only on the day of excursion yet all required documents and payment need to pay 2 to 3 days prior in advance for the necessary arrangements.
- An additional cost is required to visit NATHULA. The cost varies time to time (INR 4000 to 10000 per CAB).
- Once permit get done there will be no refund whatsoever is the reason [Land slide, Road block, VIP movement, Health Issue, Heavy Rain Fall anything]
- Nathula is closed on Monday and Tuesday for Tourist
Information on North Sikkim
- Foreign National or NRI can visit Lachen, Thangu, Chopta Valley, Lachung, Yumthang & Yumesamdong, in case they are in a group of at least 2 members with a valid permit
- Foreign National or NRI are not allowed to visit Gurudongmar Lake
- For North Sikkim Tour all packages are in full board basis. The North Sikkim tour starts from Gangtok and end at Gangtok. The meal starts with Dinner ends with Lunch. (All Meals are at Hotel only)
- One exclusive vehicle operates the tour.
- Proper woolen or warm clothes are required while visit North Sikkim any time during the year
- North Sikkim is the seventh least crowded district in the country so facilities are also very basic than other developed area.
- Facilities are basis but traveler craze and interest are too high to visit the place for its natural beauty
- Failure of electricity is quite often
- Telephone lines are frequently interrupted due to weak signal, so it is advisable to carry more than one Provider SIM.
- Best time to visit : 10th March to 10th June and 20th September to 05th January
Itinerary
Day 1: Njp/Ixb to Gangtok (120 Kms, 4 To 5 Hours Drive)
On arrival at IXB Airport/ NJP Railway Station our company representative will greet you and assist to board your vehicle towards Gangtok (5413 Ft / 1650 Mts). Vehicle takes near about 04 to 05 Hrs. If you wish you can visit popular MG MARG in the evening by your own. You will stay overnight in hotel at Gangtok.
[You can enjoy River Rafting on the way on direct payment basis, Vehicle halt charge applicable].
Day 2: Tshangu & Baba Mandir Excursion (57 Kms -One Way, 1.5 To 2 Hours Drive One Way) [Nathula Optional, Additional Cost Applicable]
After breakfast visit Tshangu -Baba Mandir. [There are some restrictions to visit the place, refer to Tshangu-Baba Mandir & Nathula Policy]. [Nathula Is Closed On Monday & Tuesday]
The distance between Gangtok – Tshangu is 40 Kms. [Vehicle takes 1 Hour]
The distance between Tshangu – Baba Mandir is 16.4 KMs. [Vehicle takes 30 Minutes]
The distance between Tshangu – Nathula is 16.6 KMs. [Vehicle takes 30 Minutes]
[Precaution: When visit TSHANGU & NATHULA please note few things as follows –
- Due to high altitude of 14140 Feet, the oxygen is little less here, so carry oxygen cylinder if required.
- As the level of oxygen are less here all are requested not breathe rapidly and unconsciously, breathe slowly it will help to retain oxygen in the body.
- In case anyone has any health issue please consult your doctor before visit there.
- The area is totally protected by our BSF brothers so not to worry at all and don’t hesitate to ask for any kind of help.
- Tshangu-Baba Mandir & Nathula with Kids below 4 Years is not suggested.
The night also you will stay in hotel at Gangtok.
Day 3: Transfer from Gangtok to Lachen
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to LACHEN on the way enjoy the delightful sightseeing. On the way visit Singhik, Seven Sister Water Falls.
The distance between Gangtok – Lachen is 130 Kms [Vehicle takes 6 to 7 Hours. This day your stay will be at Lachen.
Day 4: Gurudongmar Excursion Then Transfer to Lachung [Kala Pathaar Optional, Additional Cost Applicable]
Today you will be visit to Chopta Valley & Gurudongmar (17800 Ft / 5427 Mts / 70 Kms / 04 to 05 Hrs) from Lachen. The day starts early morning near about 5 am. As the journey is upward, the morning sun rays create spectacular view of the snow peaks, which looks like mountains made of Gold. From Lachen first one travels to Thangu (13000 Ft / 3963 Mts / 30 Kms / 02 to 2.5 Hrs from Lachen), which is a steep ascent. The only halt is at Thangu, for stretching & acclimatization. Here you have family kitchen which can serve you tea, bread butter and egg on direct payment. You get to sit around the earthen furnace and experience the mountain life style. A further drive reaches to the virgin and uninhabited land of Chopta Valley (13500 Ft / 4116 Mts / 4 Kms / 30 to 45 min from THANGU). Many tourists, who are not comfortable with the altitude, limit their tour till CHOPTA VALLEY, which is with close proximity to Tibet. The valley is rich with Alpine vegetation. From here till GURUDONGMAR, is mostly flat land with mountains and army bunkers on all sides. This is a high altitude desert, with hardly any vegetation and is stony and dusty. Your vehicle makes its own way ahead and this is the reason one can get lost very easily. As it is a plateau, it is very cold & windy throughout the year. The advice is that one should not exert much as gasping breath is difficult at this altitude. In winters, GURUDONGMAR Lake is frozen except one corner which is considered to be very sacred. Army soldiers apart from guarding the border are always ready to help those who are in need.
Your night stay will be in hotel at Lachung.
The distance between Lachen – Thangu is 30 KMs. [Vehicle takes 2 To 2.5 Hours]
The distance between Thangu – Chopta Valley is 4 KMs. [Vehicle takes 30 to 45 Minutes]
The distance between Chopta Valley and Gurudongmar is 32 KMs. [Vehicle takes 1½ Hours]
Day 5: Yumthang Excursion Then Transfer to Gangtok [Zero Point Optional, Additional Cost Applicable]
Early morning proceed on a half day excursion to Yumthang Valley (11800 Ft / 3598 Mts, 25 Kms / 1 ½ hours one way). The place is an attraction for tourist. The Rhododendron Sanctuary comes into flower between the month of April and June. The valley is also known for its Hot spring. Although the water is quite dirty, many locals from the area visit to get them wet in the water to be cured as believed.
Optional Yumesamdong known as (Zero Point) (15300 Ft / 4665 Mts, 24 Kms / 1.5 to 2 Hrs)
Optional Katao (15000 Ft / 4572 Mts, 52 Kms / 2 to 2.5 Hrs)
(To avail Zero Point excursion or Katao excursion a supplement cost is applicable).
After completion of excursion you will be transferred to GANGTOK. Today your overnight stay will be in hotel at Gangtok.
[In case you opt for excursion of Katao and Zero Point both then you need to stay overnight at Lachung and you need to extend one more night for the Package].
Day 6: Gangtok to Pelling
After breakfast you will be transferred to PELLING, West Sikkim. You will stay overnight in hotel at Pelling.
The distance between Gangtok – Pelling is 116 Kms. [Vehicle takes 5 to 6 Hours
[You can take long route via Namchi & Ravangla on an extra payment]
Day 7: Pelling Sightseeing and Transfer to Kalimpong
After breakfast you will visit Pelling Sightseeing. Proposed points are - Pemayangtse Monastery, Sky Walk, Helipad and Rabdantse Ruins. Then transfer to Kalimpong. You will stay overnight in hotel at Kalimpong.
The distance between Pelling- Kalimpong 91 Kms. [Vehicle takes 3 Hours]
Day 8: Kalimpong Half Day Sightseeing and Transfer to Darjeeling
After breakfast you will visit local sightseeing, proposed points are - Dr. Graham’s Home, Flower Nurseries, Nature Interpretation Center, Morgan House, Dello Hills after sightseeing you will transfer to the queen of hill Darjeeling.
The distance between Kalimpong to Darjeeling is 51kms. [Vehicle takes 2½ Hours]
Day 9: Darjeeling Sightseeing
Early morning near about 3:45 Hrs visit Tiger Hill, the best place to view the Sunrise over Kanchendzonga [subjected to clear weather]. On the way to return back to hotel visit 2 more points. Points are – Ghoom Monastery and BATASIA Loop. After early morning tour come back to hotel for breakfast there after again start for a half day sightseeing. Points are Japanese Temple, Peace Pagoda, and Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering
Institute (Closed On Thursday), Tenzing & Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed On Sunday) & Panoramic View of Tea Estate.
This day your stay will be at Darjeeling hotel.
Day 10: Departure - Drop at Ixb/Njp Onword Connection
After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer towards IXB/NJP to catch your Flight/Train onward your sweet home.
You can opt for long route via Mirik, Simana, Gopaldhara Tea Estate, Pashupati Market (Indo-Nepal border) for shopping. After reach at MIRIK you can enjoy the view of serene Lake (Horse riding & Boat is available around the lake on direct payment basis). The Supplement cost for the same is INR 2000.
The distance between Darjeeling – NJP/IXB is 73 Kms. [Vehicle takes 2.5 Hours to 3 hours]
The distance between Darjeeling – NJP/IXB Via Mirik is 100 KMs. [Vehicle takes 4 Hours]

- Information of any kind of disease, allergy, respiratory and heart related issue or any other special request, please let inform us well in advance so that we can plan your leisure time more adequately.
- CWB cost is applicable when one child (5 to 10 Years) share parents room with Extra bed/Mattress
- CNB cost is applicable when one child (5 to 10 Years) share parents room without Extra bed/Mattress

- Many hotels do not have lift facilities, so guest needs to climb upstairs, in case any issue climbing please mention before room reservation
- In hilly area water & electricity scarcity is natural occurrence. Most of the hotels have power back up, still it has a limitation. So in case of load shading Geyser and Heater will not working. Our guests are requested to bear that kind of situation (if happen)
- Use of room heater upon request and availability, on extra payment basis.
- In case tour operation affected due to Flight / Train Cancellation then the Company will not be responsible for the same and the cancellation as per the policy will be applicable
- In case flight or train delayed more than 45 minutes may attract halt charge and pre-designated driver and vehicle can change
- In case any sightseeing is cancelled due to road blocking, Landslide or any other issue which is beyond our control then no refund will be processed. We must try to arrange some alternate option (in case of any rate difference guest needs to pay directly for the alternative sightseeing. There must be a justification of rate difference)
- Any amendment on confirmed file will attract Rs.1000/- as amendment charges along with the actual difference of cost.
- Early morning Tiger Hill, DARJEELING visit has been restricted by the Local Administration. Only 600 vehicles are allowed per day. So visit of Tiger Hill early morning for Sunrise will be subjected to availability of the coupon.
- Kindly clear all query before confirmation. The cost we will offer based on your requirement, so after confirmation any changes can attract additional cost.
Documents Required
- One Photo Identity and address Proof of each traveler in original and photocopy. [Pan Card And Aadhaar Card Are Not Accepted As Id Proof In Sikkim]. It can be valid Photo ID with address, issued by Government Of India, Passport, Driving License, Voter Id, Id Proof Authorised By School Authority For Minor
- Foreign National or NRI need to carry Valid Passport and Visa
- Children will have to accompany by their parents and should have a valid Photo ID issued by the school authority or GOVT official. It is also suggested to carry a photo copy along with the original Birth Certificate of the children traveling to avoid any inconvenience.
- 05 Numbers Passport size photo in case any Permit is required to visit any restricted place (Nathula, Tshangu, Baba Mandir, North Sikkim, Silk Route Etc ...)
- Guest will be informed about current protocol by our office executive after confirmation of the tour and guest must carry all the documents at the time of travelling, in case of any inconvenience for failing to produce the same we will not hold ourselves responsible.
Notes on Vehicle
- All mentioned transfer and sightseeing will be done by the same category of vehicle.
- Luxury vehicle used for 1 to 6 persons Maximum – Xylo/Innova/Similar
- Standard vehicle used for 1 to 3 persons – Wagon R/Swift Dezire / Etios / Tata Sumo/Similar
- Standard vehicle used for 4 to 8 persons –Tata Sumo/Bolero/Similar
- In this area same number vehicle cannot move every place. There are restrictions from Govt. official and Syndicate department. Vehicle will change sector wise.
- Vehicle and driver details will share one day before the journey.
- On-tour up gradation of vehicle will only possible when required vehicle is available and with extra cost
- Maximum 6 Persons (Including Child) can accommodate in Luxury vehicle like Innova/Xylo/Similar
- In case of extra luggage 1 extra vehicle need to hire on extra cost. Mode of payment - direct. (Suggested a single number of bag for each person)
- Standard large Vehicle (Tata Sumo/Bolero/Similar) is not allowed to run inside the Gangtok town so while book Standard vehicle then please note that guest will drop and pickup for sightseeing or other transfer at and from respective TAXI stand. Guest needs to take small TAXI from TAXI stand to hotel and hotel to TAXI stand whenever require. To avoid this inconvenience it is suggested to book LUXURY CAB.
- Vehicle will run for the entire tour as per Itinerary point to point basis only. Any service outside the itinerary will charge extra.
- Vehicle will not on disposal. In case of extra service other than the planned tour will cost extra on direct payment basis
- All places in our area do not have parking zone, so guests are requested to listen to our chauffer guidance and avoid unnecessary harassment or inconvenience.
- In case road blockage due to any natural calamities or VIP movement then vehicle may take long route with the consent of guest for which additional cost will be borne by the guest directly.
- On -tour any extra service (Subjected to the possibility) can be arrange with the consent of File Handling Executive. Extra additional cost for the same need to be paid as assisted by the Executive.
- AC of luxury vehicle will operate in plain only not on hill.

- 19 - 16 Days prior to the operation of the booked tour 75% of total tour cost / INR 5000.00 (Higher-side)
- 15 - 00 Days prior to the operation of the booked tour 100% of total tour cost
For Lachung, Lachen and Offbeat Destination there will be no refund after the booking is confirmed.
Refund will be process after receiving written communication. Fund will be credited to the beneficiary account mentioned in mail by 15 days from receiving the request.
